I'm a firm believer in God, though not so much in rituals. Long ago, I came across 2 lovely things in one of my favourite books, The Far Pavilions. One was a prayer, and one was an anecdote, which both express what I feel about religion and God.
The prayer goes ( roughly):
Forgive o lord, these three sins that are due to my human limitations:
Thou hast no name but I call thee by these names
Thou has no form but I worship thee in these forms
Thou needest no praise nor entreaties but I offer thee these salutations
The anecdote: Once a pathan asked Ash, the protagonist, about the the Holy Trinity in Christianity and how all three of the entities were meant to be one. The answer given by Ash seems to me an answer that could be about different religions as much as about the Trinity.
Ash sprinkled three drops of water on different corners of a plate and said - see, they are all different. He then tipped the plate so the drops ran together and said -all three are still there but now they have become one.
The same way that all religions are different but lead to the same God...
