Okay, so the big 4-0 is upon me. I will have officially reached middle age tomorrow. So...well, don't really feel all that old or middleaged. While grey hairs abound, no signs of wisdom/ maturity yet. Of course, for some strange reason, I am feeling compelled to do all kinds of things, from getting a facial/ pedicure to buying myself an expensive gift, which I can't afford, in my current jobless state.

But on the whole, while as usual life caught up with some of the goals I had set for myself, I am pretty happy with where I have reached so far. I wanted to lose enough weight to fit into a sexy black halter dress I bought five years ago, just before I got pregnant with Puddi and have since been unable to fit into...Thanks to my now regular gym sessions, that's a check.

I always have a dislike for twilight - it gets me depressed unless I am in the company of friends/ loved ones...thanks to A and the kids, that's a check.

I wanted to be working in an interesting job...I am now working for myself. I love my boss. So that's a check.

I guess one of the things you realise, the more milestone birthdays you have under your belt, is that as you grow older, you change in ways that you want to change, if you are a generally happy kind of person. So those changes don't sort of creep up and make you shout out in horror and say oh no, who have I turned into. On the whole, I am turning into the me I imagined being...hapy birthday, me!
